Jacksonville, Fla. – April 1, 2016 – Marguerite and Mike Mumford, owners of Paul Davis Restoration of North Florida announced today that 18 full-time company employees and two of the company’s subcontractors have completed industry training and certifications as EPA Certified Renovators. Participants included project managers, technicians, estimators, the owners, admin staff, and local construction professionals. The company employs numerous EPA certified technicians who initially received training at Paul Davis in 2010. The company has also received certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conduct Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) activities. The training was held at the local office, 2111 N. Liberty Street in Jacksonville, Fla.
Specifically, in 2010, the EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. The EPA now recommends that anyone performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes and child care facilities and schools must follow lead-safe work practices.
The Paul Davis office specializes in residential and commercial emergency services, loss mitigation, reconstruction, and restoration services along with contents cleaning, among others. The company has been named by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an Accredited Renovation, Repair, and Painting Program (RRP) Training Provider. The local students successfully completed the course as certified renovators and are able to work on projects using lead safe practices in accordance with the RRP.
In addition to the EPA certification, Paul Davis Restoration employees hold certifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in water and mold damage restoration, fire and smoke restoration, Applied Structural Drying (ASD), and Applied Microbial Remediation, and many other IICRC certifications.
